Becoming a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (FASCP) is no easy task and requires commitment. The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) wanted to recognize their most
devoted and accomplished members with a unique identity that would be recognized by the society's international membership and well as throughout the larger scientific community.

The ASCP is a unique group of scientists committed to supporting consultant pharmacists focused on the care of seniors and those with chronic illness. Through leadership, education, advocacy and resources, the ASCP strives to advance the practice of senior care pharmacy and to provide an open platform for collaborative relationships with other professional and political groups involved with the health care of the senior community.

Many years are invested in achieving Fellow status. The candidate must be an active participant in related conferences; continue the education process through certification programs; teach and mentor other scientists; give lectures to peers as well as non-pharmasists, including the media on relevant topics; author publications; participate in advocacy and civic activities; and take on relevant leadership roles. It was clear that this highly distinguished status required an identity reflecting such attributes as respect, importance, and commitment to community.

The resulting visual identity creates a strong, distinct persona for this extra ordinary group of individuals. The combination of symbol and logotype is both refined and tasteful. The abstract symbol of joining, curved shapes communicates a connection with and participation in the community as well as the flowing of ideas from one individual or group to another. To complement the symbol and to bring harmony to the entire signature, a modern font with rounded serifs was carefully chosen. Conservative yet rich colors emphasize the importance the title carries.

The new visual identity was applied to a small but useful system which consists of a handsome business card and stationery design. The stationery was purposely designed with a broad range of communications in mind, including daily correspondence, press-releases and articles for publication or distribution to other members.
