After having successfully started and sold
a profitable small business, the founder of
à la cards, located in Benicia, California,
saw another opportunity to put her entrepreneurial skills and energy to work. She happen upon the unique opportunity to market and sell a select line of specialty, hand-made greeting cards. Thus began à la cards. Seeing the potential in representing other specialty greeting card artisans and the possibility of opening up several boutique
stores in which to sell the cards, a visual identity system had to be to be created for the new company. In order to start building awareness immediately, à la cards scheduled a presence at several national card and gift shows, so a logotype, stationery, show advertising, catalog templates and a web presence needed to be developed in a relatively a short period of time.

After spending some time with à la cards' founder to clearly articulate the company's personality, business strategies, and goals, a distinct face for the brand began to emerge. What developed was a spirited logotype and mark using a lively color scheme, successfully distinguishing the brand visually from a sea of competitors. After the selection of a complementary typeface the basic identity components were integrated into a comprehensive identity system.

À la cards has taken off with a bang from the starting gate and continues to find success around every corner.
